Olly Murs promises to dance fully naked if Blessing Chitapa wins The Voice

Olly Murs has promised to dance fully naked with only a swinging coin covering his modesty if his act Blessing Chitapa wins The Voice final.

The singer, 36, made the pact with MailOnline ahead of Saturday’s showpiece and hopes it may temp viewers to vote for the 18-year-old country star.

He highlighted a viral video of the ‘coin dance challenge’ on social media back in March alongside the caption ‘If I win The Voice 2020’ – and he intends to keep his word.

In an exclusive chat, Olly says: ‘I have got something planned if i win. It will be my celebration dance.

‘I said earlier this year on my Instagram when I posted that video if I win The Voice 2020 this is what I’m going to do.’

Olly also stripped off when his act Molly Hocking won last year’s final and sat on the spinning chair of losing coach Sir Tom Jones completely naked.

He’s confident of securing a double win on Saturday in the final of the ITV series, which was heavily delayed due to COVID-19.

Olly says: ‘Blessing is only 18 and she’s got phenomenal talent. I’m feeling really confident.

‘There were a couple of singers who went last week which really surprised me, so it’s opened up the doors a bit now.

‘The other coaches are too cool for school, but I’m not afraid to say I really want to win. I’m competitive in everything I do.’

Olly, who is currently filming the 2021 series of The Voice in Manchester, also revealed he’s planning more TikTok pranks with girlfriend Amelia Tank during the second lockdown.

Earlier this year, the pair’s antics on the social media site were a hit with his followers, but not everyone was impressed.

Olly was forced to apologise after offending viewers for putting his penis inside a Pringles can before Amelia reached into it to pick out a crisp.

On the furore it caused, Olly says: ‘With these TikTok videos, you shouldn’t believe everything you’re watching

‘Most of the pranks myself and Amelia did, without ruining it for people, were set up and sometimes people get offended. All we wanted to do was make people smile during a difficult time.

‘There is no intention there of upsetting anyone, it was just between me and my girlfriend.’

He adds: ‘It doesn’t bother me though – you can’t please everyone.

‘It won’t stop me – but there won’t be any more crisps involved!’

Essex-born Olly shot to fame when he finished second in the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.

In 2010, Olly released his debut single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’, which debuted at number one on the UK’s singles charts.

He has since released six studio albums, his latest in 2018 – when he took up his role as a judge on The Voice.

One of his contestants Molly Hocking, won the eight series of the hit ITV show.

This year’s judging line-up features Olly alongside singer Meghan Trainor, as well as the show’s judging mainstays, music legend Tom Jones and Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am.

Earlier in the series, Olly surprised a brave police officer by presenting her with a Pride of Britain award while she was on set at The Voice.

The singer took to the stage while PC Claire Bond was testing out the judges chairs and began to sing Dear Darlin’, prompting her to press the buzzer.

In September 2018, PC Bond was responding to reports a car had crashed into a garage in Coton Fields, near the route of a 10k race.

Drug dealer Gurajdeep Malhi had smashed into parked cars while fleeing police in a hired BMW.

PC Bond, a mother of four from Staffordshire, tried to grab his car keys and struggled with Malhi. She was determined to stop his driving, because if he escaped.

He was heading straight for the route of the race, which was packed with runners.

During the struggle she was run over, dragged along the ground and crushed against a fence.

She was eventually pulled to safety but had to undergo a five-hour operation to save her shattered leg.

Malhi fled on foot and was last arrested and jailed for 12 years. A year after the incident, PC Bond took part in the same race to raise money for the charity Care of Police Survivors.

She covered the first 9km in a wheelchair but walked the final kilometre.

PC Bond had been unable to work for 18 months as she recovered from being run over but refused to let the virus keep her at home any longer and she returned to work on 1st April to the COVID-19 frontline.

It was while she was being given a behind the scenes tour of The Voice that she was surprised by Olly.
