John B has been framed for a murder that was in fact committed by Sarah’s villainous brother Rafe portrayed by Drew Starkey.

Meanwhile Sarah has found herself pitted against her own father Ward, played by silver fox Charles Esten, who has murdered John B’s father.

‘My old man used to tell me: “It’s best to never say you’ve hit rock bottom -trust me,” he said: “you can always go lower,”‘ says John B early in the trailer.

He and his girlfriend Sarah wind up in Nassau, the Bahamas – the precise location of a massive hoard of gold they are attempting to get their hands on.

Ward of course is also after the same stash of Royal Merchant gold which in one scene he values at ‘half a billion.’

However while there they realize they have not quite left their problems behind as John B finds a wanted poster of himself with $50,000 on his head.

‘John B we are fugitives in a foreign country,’ Sarah tells him as they gaze out at the sea in Nassau, ‘promise me you won’t do anything stupid.’

‘Well Sarah Cameron, people do stupid things all the time without realizing it,’ comes John B’s not entirely comforting reply.

Ward continues his ruthless hunt for his daughter and her boyfriend – and in one frightening moment Sarah is kidnapped off the street.

At one point she gets fed up of John and says: ‘I’m calling the shots now – I’m driving,’ only to relent when she remembers: ‘I can’t drive stick.’

Meanwhile back home in the United States their pals from their old friend group the Pogues are hatching plots of their own.

Pope, played by Jonathan Daviss, Kiara, played by Madison Riley, and JJ, played by Rudy Pankow, have set themselves the task of getting at the treasure.

In one cryptic scene Pose opens up an air vent from below causing a cloud of dust to emerge – and a mysterious key to fall into his hand.

‘The treasure belongs to the Pogues – we gotta find it first,’ he tells Kiara and JJ before they all do their special handshake.

Then to the tune of Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked an action-packed portion of the trailer begins where guns are drawn and odd truths uncovered.

John at one point discovers a ‘map of the whole island’ that appears to have been hidden in a Bahamian mansion’s wallpaper.

Kiara is seen attempting to escape from a room that is filling up with spraying water – possibly a sinking boat of some kind.

At another ominous point in the trailer she can be briefly glimpsed hugging another character and sobbing.

The trailer has its share of thrill moments as well including when John and Sarah hold hands and jump from a dizzying height off a ship into the sea.
