Pink shared a heartfelt tribute to her late father Jim Moore on what would have been his 76th birthday on Friday, October 15.
A confessional of sorts, the 42-year-old singer-songwriter (born Alecia Beth Moore) took to Instagram with a photo of his grave and poetically acknowledged their 42 years together; how she’s not ready to ‘miss you yet’; and that he’s ‘gone but not forgotten.’
No doubt, still raw with emotions, the Just All I Know So Far singer’s emotional birthday message comes seven weeks after the Vietnam War veteran passed away following a prostate cancer diagnosis.

Artistic: ‘I only knew you for 42 years this time. That’s a long time. That’s not that long,’ Pink (born Alecia Beth Moore), 42, started in the birthday message, which was written in the style of a poem or song lyrics

There’s an American flag next to his identification card, and a couple of chocolate doughnuts and a birthday candle on the green grass.
‘I only knew you for 42 years this time. That’s a long time. That’s not that long,’ she started in the birthday message, which was written in the style of a poem or song lyrics.
The Grammy winning singer went on to share how she thinks of their fights first, whenever she taps into the memories she has of her father.
Sad: The singer-songwriter got poetic with her emotional words in the birthday message
‘Screaming. Crying. Misunderstanding,’ she continued, before adding, ‘And then like a parallel universe. Simultaneously I remember the way you would pat my hand and say “aww” to remind me to be gentler, To remind me that I was Nicer than that thing I said.’
She continued, ‘How you would tell me that the world was out to get me, but that the world was full of animals that needed our help. Nature that needed to be revered. Silence that needed to be listened to. You taught me that no fight was too small, except the ones that chipped away at your soul.
The mother of two then really pulls at the heartstrings when she admits, ‘I don’t even know that I can handle the cold hard truth that I miss you yet.’
Heartbroken: Pink went public about her father’s death when she shared two black-and-white photos on August 26 showing the two of them dancing
Life’s phases: One image was taken when she was a youngster, and the other was snapped in her adult years, possibly at her wedding party in 2006
She taps back into her memory bank again and writes, ‘I wanna still act like this is one of those times that I’m busy and not calling. I can’t feel this yet. You would’ve been 76 today. And I’m ashamed To say that I’m not sure I remembered to send a card.’
The Cover Me In Sunshine hitmaker follows up by stating how each of their ‘hearts have always been a bit broken. And you’re the only one that understood that without having to talk about it.’
Pink wound down the post by revealing that she doesn’t ‘know where you are. And therefore I don’t know where I am either.’
In conclusion she wrote, ‘Anyways Happy birthday Daddy Sir. Gone but not forgotten. I won’t miss you yet. I’m not ready.’
