Emma and partner Garrett, who have been together since 2019, are expecting a son after a doctor informed the actress she had undiagnosed endometriosis and told her to freeze her eggs.
Last Friday, Emma admitted her pregnancy has made her so emotional that she tears up now and then.
The mother-to-be told The Drew Barrymore Show: ‘I’ve hit the point where like half way up the stairs I have to sit down sometimes and maybe tears rolls down a couple times a week.
‘But no I’m so grateful and feel so lucky especially in such a crazy year like this to have been able to have something else to focus on and have something to be excited about and so I feel really, really lucky.’
The star added that four of her close girlfriends were pregnant or have had a baby this year.
She said: ‘So I have had such a nice support group of other women that either were ahead of me in their pregnancy or on their second baby so I felt so lucky that I had people to text at all hours of the day and night.’
Emma stated she thinks she had endometriosis when she was a teen and it was never dealt with.
When she was diagnosed, her doctor added that endometriosis causes problems with fertility. She was then told she probably needed to freeze her eggs and she did so.

‘When I found out about my fertility, I was kind of stunned,’ she said. ‘It felt so permanent, and oddly, I felt like I had done something wrong.’
Then she was brought into ‘a new world of conversation about endometriosis, infertility, miscarriages, fear of having kids.’
The Nancy Drew actress said: ‘I was so grateful to find out I was not alone in this. I hadn’t done anything ‘wrong’ after all.’
