Quentin Tarantino and his wife Daniella Pick put on a cosy display when they stepped out at the Rome Film Festival on Tuesday.

The famed director, 58, cut a dapper figure in an all-black suit while singer Daniella, 37, wowed in a sweeping white gown and sweetly placed her hand on her award-winning spouse’s chest.

The couple was walking the Close Encounters red carpet, an event which sees cultural figures including directors and actors take part in onstage conversations.

Daniella’s striking gown featured a sky-high thigh-split and the doting mother added height to her frame in open-toe heels.

The Israeli singer wore her tresses swept into a chic up-do.

Also walking the red carpet was actress Denny Méndez, who wowed in a figure-hugging black dress and Italian writer Antonio Monda.

Rome Film Fest is taking place in the Italian capital between October 14 and 24 and hosts screenings, events, exhibitions, installations and debates.

It comes after Tarantino confessed in August that he refuses to help his mother financially because she once mocked his writing ambitions as a child.

The seven-time Academy Award winning movie director and screenwriter sits on a reported net worth of $120 million (£86.49 million).

However, Quentin made a pact at the age of 12 that he wouldn’t share his fortune with his mother Connie, 75, due to comments she made – and has continued to uphold the vow four decades on.

Speaking on The Moment podcast, which is hosted by Billions co-creator Brian Koppelman, he recalled a moment when his mother sided with his teachers after he was scolded for writing screenplays in school.

After getting in trouble, he said that his mum ‘was bitching at me about that… and then in the middle of her little tirade, she said, ‘Oh, and by the way, this little ”writing career,” with the finger quotes and everything. This little ”writing career” that you’re doing? That s**t is over.’

Quentin added: ‘When she said that to me in that sarcastic way, I go, ”OK, lady, when I become a successful writer, you will never see penny one from my success. There will be no house for you. There’s no vacation for you, no Elvis Cadillac for mommy. You get nothing. Because you said that”.’

When asked if he’d followed through with his vow, Quentin confessed: ‘Yeah. I helped her out with a jam with the IRS. But no house. No Cadillac, no house.’

He added: ‘There are consequences for your words as you deal with your children. Remember there are consequences for your sarcastic tone about what’s meaningful to them.’

Quentin’s mother said in a statement to MailOnline: ‘Regarding my son Quentin – I support him, I’m proud of him and love him and his growing new family.

‘It gave me great joy to dance at his wedding and receive his news upon the birth of my Grandson Leo.

‘Quentin and I both know that a sound bite on a podcast can spin and go viral without full context and can regurgitate inaccurately bolstered by slices of old interviews and assumptive past written material.’
