Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City: Jenny Nguyen urges Duy to seek therapy after ‘sister wife’ fight

Jennie Nguyen urged her husband Duy to seek professional help to talk to someone about the trauma over losing their daughter shortly after childbirth on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Bravo.

The discussion occurred at an oyster bar when Duy told Jennie he was still in favor of them getting a sister wife to have more children. He told her that they had always talked about having more kids and that it hurt him when she walked away from their previous discussion on the subject where he suggested getting a sister wife.

Jennie started crying and asked him how he would feel if she told him the solution was for her to marry another guy.

Duy said he didn’t know what other solution there was for them.

‘You think having a sister wife is a solution?’ Jennie asked. ‘Isn’t it illegal to have multiple marriages?’

Duy told her in 2019 they removed the law that prohibited that in Utah.

‘Utah!’ Said Jennie. ‘But Utah.’

‘That’s where we live,’ said Duy.’Polygamy is not unique to here in Utah. They have it all over the world.’

In a confessional, Duy said in Asia that there were many polygamous families. He said one of his patients in Utah had five wives and 40 kids. He said some of their kids were on their way to college and were very well behaved.

Jennie said in a confessional that she knew that Duy’s grandfather had multiple wives. But Jennie said she was not okay with sharing her husband with another woman.

Jennie pointed out to Duy that the people in Utah who engaged in polygamy were part of a religion FLDS ( Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). She reminded him that she was Catholic and that this was not something encouraged in her religion. She asked him if he had talked to their priest.

Duy told her that he didn’t think it would be something that their religion would prohibit. He said the Ten Commandments do not say ‘thou should not have another wife.’ Jennie told her she was trying to be open minded but that it really hurt what he was saying.

‘Why would you want me to share you with someone?’ said Jennie while crying.

Duy told her she was his best friend. He told her that a big family meant a lot and he had this empty feeling and believed that more children would fill this emptiness in his heart. Jennie instead told him that the best thing for him to deal with the tragedy of losing their daughter was for him to get professional help.

‘There is nothing wrong with me …,’ Duy protested. ‘I know what I want.’

Jennie said in a confessional she didn’t think that Duy had healed from the trauma of losing their daughter. She said in their culture that it was very hard for individuals to seek professional help.

Duy told her that his best answer to her was to let him think about it.

Across town, Meredith Marks, 49, met her husband Seth for lunch. She told him they needed to finalize their real estate purchase in Utah. He said all he cared about was Mother Nature’s view. She said their marriage counselor helped them with their communication issues but that she thought that sometimes she didn’t feel she had his full support.

‘I’m asking for you to help me manage the stress,’ Meredith said.

Later that day, Heather Gay, 47, held a party at her store Beauty Lab to celebrate her store’s one year anniversary and her employees who had babies. The other housewives showed up. Whitney Rose, 34, told the other woman about her awkward dinner with Lisa Barlow, 46. She told them how Lisa arranged the dinner at her friends Marco and Aubrey’s restaurant Nino Viejo, the same chefs that backed out of catering the LBGTQ casino night fundraiser, later dubbed ‘caterer-gate’ that Whitney’s friend Angie hosted.

Whitney said that the first thing out of Aubrey’s mouth was about the catering event. Whitney said she accused Lisa of staging and setting up a trap. Whitney told her that she agreed to move on with Lisa but that Lisa told her she didn’t want to have a relationship with Angie. Whitney said she invited Lisa and Angie to the group’s snow tubing day and they both could sort it out there.

The next day the women all gathered for a day of snow tubing. They took a party bus together to the event where Lisa pretended that Angie wasn’t there.

Right off the bat, Mary Cosby and Lisa got into a fight. Mary didn’t like the fact that Lisa said she was going to google to double check one of the things that Mary said. Mary told her she thought she had an attitude.

‘I don’t deal with little girls like you,’ said Mary. ‘I don’t tolerate that.’

‘You don’t tolerate what,’ asked Lisa.

‘You,’ said Mary.

When they got out of the car, Lisa asked Mary what that was about. Mary told her to not talk to her like she was beneath her.

‘Know that,’ said Mary told her to not belittle her.

‘You keep talking about goggle things that I say,’ said Mary. ‘Why because I am black?’

Lisa said if she came like that at her again that they would have another conversation. Mary told her she was too sensitive.

Jennie yelled for them to stop and insisted that they needed to have some fun. Mary asked her if she was serious. Jennie said it was not a good day for her and told Mary not to start with her. Jennie told Mary she didn’t care what she thought and to keep her mouth shut. Lisa tried to calm her down, but Jennie yelled for no one to tell her what to say.

‘You aint my Mom,’ said Jennie. ‘No one f***s with me today.’

The woman got their snow tubes and went tubing. Angie and Whitney went and changed into furry gorilla outfits and tried to scare the other women. The woman had a fun tubing race and then went to lunch. Losers of the tubing race had to wear silly wigs at lunch.

Mary sat at lunch and didn’t eat. The women asked if Mary was still good with Lisa. Lisa told Mary that she thought they were good. Mary said of course they were good. Angie stepped in and said she wanted her relationship with Lisa to move on for the sake of their wellness.

‘Unless you are saying sorry, I don’t think there is anything more to say,’ Lisa told her.

Angie asked if she understood her point at all. Lisa said she didn’t think she did anything wrong. Lisa said she was not going to be accused of something she didn’t do and didn’t appreciate a friend of 20 years doing that to her.

‘I had nothing to do with anything,’ said Lisa. ‘My feelings were devastated.’

Whitney tried to explain Angie’s position, but Lisa didn’t appreciate Whitney’s involvement.

‘I’m not into this pile all this f***ing bull***,’ said Lisa. ‘All I want to do is to be f***ing me and to not have everyone question what I think, say, do. I can’t even say the word f***ing ”google” without someone jumping on me. Get off my f***ing back.’

In a confessional, Lisa said she didn’t know what was more hurtful that Angie was going on about this lie or that her two friends Jen and Meredith were dead silent.

Lisa was emphatic that she did not instruct her friends to pull out from catering Angie’s event. Lisa started crying and said her grandfather was gay and that it was a hurtful accusation to say she encouraged them to pull out of an event for a community that she loved and supported.

Angie got up and gave sobbing Lisa a hug. Jennie then asked Mary if they were good. Jennie said she was very open and that she didn’t like people telling her what to do. She said it triggered her.

Mary said in a confessional that Jennie was looking at the air. Jennie told them it was her daughter’s death anniversary.

‘It’s hard,’ said Jennie as she sobbed. ‘Just understand as a mom that I don’t want to go through this. Especially today. ‘

Lisa said in a confessional that she understood the pain that Jennie was feeling but that she didn’t understand why she was sharing it with this group because they were all ‘selfish b****es.’

The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City will return next Sunday on Bravo.
