They’ve been married for more than a decade, but it seems Sacha Baron Cohen is still every inch the gentleman when it comes to his wife Isla Fisher.

The 49-year-old comedian dutifully bought the actress a take-away coffee as she celebrated her 45th birthday in Sydney on Wednesday.

As he walked from the café back to their home, the Borat star downed his own drink – a double espresso – in a matter of seconds.

Sacha and Isla met at a party in Sydney in 2002 and married eight years later. The couple are parents to three children, Olive, 12, Elula, eight, and Montgomery, four.

Isla told Marie Claire in May that meeting Sacha was like ‘winning the lottery’.

She said their relationship was built on ‘a shared sense of humour and a willingness to be married’.

The Confessions of a Shopaholic star, who relocated to America early in her career, also admitted that ‘juggling’ a family in LA wasn’t easy.

‘There’s not really a culture of bringing your kids to dinner parties or to restaurants past 6pm. I tend to entertain at home because I want to be with my family – it’s easier to put your kids to bed and have a wine with friends,’ she said.

The couple are known for being notoriously private, but last month Isla gave her husband a sweet shout-out on Instagram for his birthday.

‘Happy Birthday, boo. You have had an amazing year as an activist, actor, father and husband,’ she wrote.

‘Thank you for trying as hard as you can to make the world a better place.’
