Sarah Jessica Parker asserts her no-nudity clause will remain in place for Sex And The City reboot

Sarah Jessica Parker is standing firm on her no-nudity clause for the Sex And The City reboot.

The star, 55, who will reprise the role of Carrie Bradshaw in the spin-off titled And Just Like That, was one of the only original four actresses not to feature in a revealing nude scene when the series-cum-movie franchise was in production.

And things are staying that way, according to The Sun.

No-dity! Sarah Jessica Parker is standing firm on her no-nudity clause for the Sex And The City reboot

‘Some people have a perks list and they are legendary. They have to have white candles in their room. I don’t have a crazy list like that. I’ve just always had a no-nudity clause,’ Sarah said. ‘I’m a modest person.’

She also insisted that a body double is a no-go too.

‘You couldn’t pay me enough to have someone pretend they were me doing a nude scene. No body doubles — that’s part of my contract,’ she added.

Sex And The City first hit screens in the summer of 1998, with the actress under pressure to feature in sexualised scenes as per the theme of the show.

‘There was so much pressure for me to take my clothes off. They were like, “Sarah’s going to be nude tomorrow”, and I was like, “I’m not going to be nude”,’ Sarah said. ‘My agent sent a car and a plane ticket to the film set and said, “If anybody makes you do anything that you are not comfortable doing, you don’t”.

‘I know how lucky I am that there was someone — in this case, a man — who stepped in.’

She added how excited she is to reprise the role, with production on And Just Like That said to be starting imminently.

She added that the idea went from a procedural podcast to an extension on the popular series, this time dealing with contemporary issues brought about by the pandemic.

Sarah went on: ‘New York shut down in a way that also affects lots of other people because it’s the center of finance, it’s the center of culture, one could argue, and its silence was deafening…

‘All these conversations were becoming a huge part of our experience inside of our homes, Michael and I just became really interested. And thus was born – And Just Like That.’

Production on the project is expected to kick up this spring.
