Stranger Things spin-off rumored for Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven under her own Netflix overall deal

While fans wait for the highly-anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos offered some interesting comments, teasing some spin-offs.

Sarandos spoke at the Code Conference at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where hinted at ‘spinoffs’ of the wildly popular series.

It has also been rumored that one of those spin-offs may center on 17-year-old Millie Bobby Brown and her Eleven character, according to Deadline.

The report mentions that this spin-off could fall under a rumored overall deal for the actress, which was first reported back in December but never confirmed.

That report from insider Daniel Richtman claimed that the streaming service offered Brown a massive first look deal to star in and develop projects for them, including an action franchise.

While that report was never confirmed, it’s also not terribly surprising that the streaming service would want to lock up the star with a long term deal.

Aside from her massive success on Stranger Things, which Netflix reported was in the top 10 for shows in both view hours and numbers of accounts watched, she also starred in Enola Holmes with Henry Cavill.

The film, which follows Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister, played by Brown, as she becomes a detective in her own right, ranked #7 in terms of number of accounts that watched the movie (77 million) and #7 in view hours (190 million).

As for Stranger Things, Sarandos said, ‘Franchises are good, but what you want are hits,’ adding that Stranger Things is, ‘a franchise being born.’

Netflix revealed in August that the long-awaited fourth season will debut sometime in 2022, three years after Season 3 debuted over the 4th of July in 2019.

Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have said in previous interviews they envision Stranger Things lasting four or five seasons, though there is no definitive word yet on when the show will come to an end.

If Brown does in fact sign a long term overall deal, she’ll be among the youngest ever to do so, though Black-ish star Marsai Martin is believed to be the youngest person ever to sign an overall deal, when she inked a pact with Universal Pictures in 2019.

Netflix is currently developing an Enola Holmes sequel for Brown and her co-star Henry Cavill, though it’s unclear when that may move forward.

She is also attached to star in an adaptation of Tess Brown’s novel The Girls I’ve Been for Netflix.

The actress also has The Thing About Jellyfish for Universal Pictures, based on Ali Benjamin’s novel.
