Sunrise reporter Amelia Brace slams calls to digitally remove Donald Trump from Home Alone 2 as ‘the epitome of cancel culture’

Sunrise news reporter Amelia Brace has slammed calls for Donald Trump to be removed from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

The outgoing President of the United States appears in a cameo in the 1993 family comedy starring Macaulay Culkin, 40.

In the scene, Macaulay’s character Kevin McAllister asks Trump, ‘where the lobby is’ and he replies, ‘Down the hall and to the left.’

Sunrise host Matt Doran asked a panel of network reporters – Amelia Brace, Edwina Bartholomew and Samantha Brett – if Trump, 74, should be digitally erased from the holiday classic, as many have suggested online.

Amelia responded: ‘I think we need to have priorities here. This is also the epitome of cancel culture.

‘Pretending that Donald Trump wasn’t in Home Alone 2 or he wasn’t president for four years is like pretending he won the election.

‘You can’t just change things because it’s not what you like, and that doesn’t achieve anything.

‘I would like to see him left in and in future, when my children watch this, which they will every day, we can discuss who that man is and that he was a president and some of the things he did,’ she concluded.

Samantha Brett chimed in, saying that Trump has appeared in dozens of cameo roles, including in Sex and the City.

She added that it would perhaps not be feasible to erase him from everything he’s appeared in.

Edwina Bartholomew added: ‘I can tell you right now, the answer is no.

‘He is being wiped from cultural history and political history, and he will be a presence in the American legal system long after this election, and perhaps long after the next four years’.
