TALK OF THE TOWN: Downton Abbey actress didn’t tell anyone about her exit from the show… which turned out to be a mistake when her mother burst into tears

Jessica Brown Findlay’s exit from Downton Abbey was so secret she even kept it from her mother – which turned out to be a mistake.

The 31-year-old actress who played Lady Sybil Crawley until 2012 when the character died from eclampsia, revealed she couldn’t warn her mum ‘because she does like to have a little chat with the neighbours about everything’.

Jessica kept the secret right up until the day her death scene appeared on TV – while she was on a flight to America.

Jessica explains: ‘I’d arrived in the States to start a job… and I had a call from my mum. She was distraught.

‘She’d just settled down for a little Sunday evening, nice glass of red wine, chilling out… and then she was calling me in tears, saying, “I just watched you die.”

‘She was in pieces!’

Will Ed Sheeran’s tormenting of his manager ever stop?

Not content with making Stuart Camp carry around a picture of Harry Potter twins Fred and George Weasley, the singer has put more wacky clauses in their contract.

Stuart says he has to provide a Colin the Caterpillar cake on Ed’s birthday, wherever they are, plus sit next to him when possible.

Talk about singing for your supper…
