The Bachelorette: Jamie Doran DEMANDS an apology from Kyle Sandilands

Reality TV star Jamie Doran is demanding an apology from Kyle Sandilands after the radio host repeatedly mocked him on air.

Jamie, 40, who is also pursuing a legal case against Warner Bros. Australia over what he claims is an unfair portrayal on Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette, insists the shock jock should say sorry for ‘trolling’ him on The Kyle and Jackie O Show earlier this year.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the FIFO worker asked why he hadn’t received a similar apology to the one Kyle offered former Bachelorette Ali Oetjen this week.

‘I’m still waiting for his apology to me. Leaving multiple voicemails on my personal number, live on air, trolling mental health. I’m waiting,’ Jamie wrote.

He was specifically referencing an incident from July 30 when Kyle had called Jamie’s phone after he’d cancelled an interview.

Kyle pretended to burst into tears, parodying how Jamie had wept on Bachelor in Paradise the week before when his co-star Timm Hanly threatened to quit the series.

Getting into character as Jamie, he whined: ‘I’m really upset because I’ve been watching Bachelor in Paradise, and I really supported you from the start!

‘I just can’t believe you left me here on my own, when I told everyone you were coming on the show. I get it, bro. I know what it’s like when you feel like you’ve got no other guys around you.

‘Anyway, I don’t want to make a fool of myself. I got your back, even though it feels like you don’t have mine. I’m sorry mate, I’ve got to go, see ya!’

Kyle then hung up and snapped out of character. His performance was so impressive that his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson said he sounded just like Jamie during his on-air meltdown.

Kyle then decided to call Jamie again, and he exaggerated his plaintive voice for the second prank voicemail.

‘I was going to have a day off, I only came in [to work] for you, bro… everyone else is teasing you here…’ he said.

‘Hopefully, you ring me back. Okay, mate, I love you… I like you, hopefully you like me. See ya, mate.’

At the time, Jamie had just announced his intention to sue production company Warner Bros. Australia over his ‘stage-five clinger’ portrayal on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

While many dismissed his legal threat at the time, Jamie did end up hiring a lawyer, and it’s rumoured the parties are now trying to reach some kind of settlement.

Jamie’s demand for an apology came after Kyle tearfully apologised to former Bachelorette Ali Oetjen on air on Wednesday.

The KIIS FM star said that he felt ‘remorseful’ for his part in amplifying salacious rumours that Ali’s ex-boyfriend Grant Kemp had once caught her engaging in a sex act with one of his friends on a staircase.

Kyle admitted that he’d had his come-to-Jesus moment while watching Ali suffer through an intense interrogation on Monday’s episode of SAS Australia.

He said: ‘I was watching it by myself on the chair at home and I teared up when you started crying, because I thought, “Jesus, I’m part of that culture that talked about you shone the spotlight on things you may not have wanted to talk about.”‘

‘And I felt, for the first time ever, very remorseful about my part in that, so I just wanted to let you know that,’ he continued.

‘You suffered it, you had the anxiety and all that stuff, and I felt like a piece of s**t.’

Ali was speechless at Kyle’s sudden penance, but she eventually said ‘thank you’ after taking a deep breath.

‘I regret that, I didn’t realise that you were going through such a tough time,’ Kyle said through tears.

‘It felt fun at the time … you forget sometimes that people on TV are real human beings.’

Kyle has frequently mentioned Ali’s staircase scandal over the years, with the most recent time being last week during an interview with Firass Dirani.

‘We haven’t seen Ali be interrogated yet, but do you think they’ll bring up when she [engaged in a sex act] on the stairs?’ quizzed Kyle.

Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson seemed annoyed at him for being so vulgar.

Underbelly star Firass stumbled over the question and laughed awkwardly.

‘Um… what time is it? Is it too early for this? Are the kids on the way to school yet?’ he asked, trying to deflect the question.

Ali’s ‘staircase incident’ refers to when her ex-boyfriend Grant Kemp, whom she met on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, publicly accused her of cheating on him.

Grant claimed that he’d walked in on Ali engaging in a sex act with one of his friends on the staircase while she was staying at his home in Los Angeles.

She has never denied the incident took place, and Grant has produced evidence in the form of text messages she supposedly sent the morning after the alleged tryst which he claims are ‘legal proof’ he’s telling the truth.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted KIIS FM for comment.
