After posting a video on her Instagram on Wednesday, critics used it as an opportunity to troll Abbie amid the backlash.

‘The timing of Abbie’s relationship “hard launch” seems like incredibly weird, attention-seeking behaviour. What was the reason she couldn’t wait a week?’ questioned one person.

‘Really disappointed in you,’ commented another, while one wrote, ‘Apologise to Brooke and the queer/Indigenous community RN [right now].’

One person compared her actions to ‘announcing your engagement to your best friend’s recent ex whilst at your best friend’s engagement party’.

Another branded the outspoken reality star as a ‘white privileged person’ and accused her of ‘virtue signaling’.

‘Lol the same person who says she hates the media attention and calls out publications for writing gossip about her is also the same person announcing her relationship the night before her good friend’s Bachelor finale as the first queer and First Nations person…’ commented another.

‘It seems the only time we see anything from Abbie is when she’s trying to make the media circus about her.’

Brooke – the franchise’s first Indigenous and bisexual lead – said Abbie moving on with Konrad, 31, was another example of a ‘white woman displaying what white privilege looks like’ in a blistering statement on Instagram Stories on Thursday.

She said she was ‘not a hostile person’ by nature but felt compelled to speak out after feeling ‘personally and mentally disrupted’ by the events of finale week – which many fans saw as Abbie trying to steal Brooke’s spotlight.

‘Everyone who watched the show, or was on the cast and/or working as crew, will know that I put my heart and soul into it and it meant a lot for me to open myself up so vulnerably like that,’ Brooke said.

‘Not only that, but for what it meant for the LGBTQIA+ and First Nations Community to have that display of representation. Which moves on to my new point. The hardest point.’

While she didn’t identify Abbie by name, she continued: ‘For that to be tainted once again by 1. what I thought was a close friend. 2. Another white woman displaying what white privilege looks like. 3. A very clear display of narcissism… Hurts me. Literally pains me.’

Konrad formed a strong connection with Brooke on The Bachelorette but was eliminated after home visits.

The carpenter later began dating Abbie, and news of their romance leaked well before his exit aired on television, effectively spoiling the show.

Brooke said she’d reached out to Abbie to resolve the conflict but didn’t seem to be satisfied by her response.

She continued: ‘Classic naïve me, adult me went to this person to communicate openly about the layers of complexity that this person’s actions show and take away from not only me, but what it meant for a queer woman of colour. If this wasn’t me, I’d still have this stance.’

Brooke concluded: ‘You guys asked for my comment. There it is. Now go give them more airtime which is what this is exactly about.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Abbie for comment.

Elsewhere in the post, Brooke said she and winning contestant Darvid Garayeli were appreciative of all the messages of support they had received since the finale.

She also said she was still grieving her sister, who died during filming.

Brooke said the couple had decided to stay away from social media for the week, saying: ‘I’ve promised myself, Darv, my family and my angel sister that I’ll take the time to heal. It will take more than a week but this is a start.’

The pair’s feud began when reports surfaced last month that Abbie was dating Konrad, a fan favourite from Brooke’s season.

He was still a contestant on the show when the rumours first surfaced.

Daily Mail Australia published a video of the couple kissing at a bar in Byron Bay on November 5 – before his exit from the show aired.

This footage not only outed them as a couple, but served as a major Bachelorette spoiler by confirming Konrad didn’t win Brooke’s heart.

To make things even more awkward, she appeared in the last episode of The Bachelorette – which was filmed months ago – as one of Brooke’s ‘best friends’.

While Abbie has yet to respond to Brooke’s scathing statement, she did say earlier this week the timing of her relationship announcement was not a ‘PR stunt’.
