The last photo Shane Warne sent his Playboy model ex-girlfriend Emily Scott

Shane Warne sent his ex-girlfriend Emily Scott a photo of the view from his resort in Thailand just hours before he died of a suspected heart attack in his room.

Scott, 39, an Australian DJ and Playboy model who dated Warne for about three months in 2014, on Thursday shared a timestamped photo of the picture Warne had sent her from the Samujana Villas resort on Koh Samui at 1.05pm on Friday, March 4.

The legendary cricketer, 52, who had arrived at the party island with a group of friends a day earlier, was found unresponsive in his room just four hours later, at 5:15pm, having suffered a suspected heart attack.

The photo forms another piece of the puzzle of Warne’s final moments, which also saw him spend $1,500 on bespoke suits from a local tailor, watch Australia’s Test cricketers take on Pakistan from his hotel room, and hire two Thai masseuses.

Scott’s photo, believed to have been sent from Shane’s suite, captured the pool and gardens at the stunning hillside resort, where he’d visited many times before.

Warne had shared another photo of the view from his suite on Instagram the night before his death, with the caption: ‘Good night from @samujanavillas Koh Samui.’

Earlier on Thursday, Scott had posted a heartbreaking tribute to Warne on Instagram, including several photos of the couple from when they were dating.

The Aussie beauty, who was the sporting great’s last confirmed relationship, recalled her time with ‘playful’ star, describing him as her ‘friend and confidante’.

‘We’d play. You were the most fun. Your kids, you were adorable with them,’ she said.

‘The loss feels too much. You gave the gift of your light, numerous memories, and I’ll always treasure them.’

Warne and Scott started dating in mid-2014.

Although the pair were first pictured together in May that year, it wasn’t until June that the couple confirmed their romance.

At the time, Warne announced the news on Twitter as he headed to Wimbledon to watch fellow Aussie Nick Kyrgios play Milos Raonic.

He wrote: ‘Ps And yes I’m taking my girlfriend @EmilyLScott who’s looking smoking hot too hahaha!!!’

The pair had attended several events together in London, including a Coldplay concert and after-party.

They also spent time in Paris prior to the London jaunt, as a photo posted to Warne’s Instagram account revealed at the time.

While the relationship was relatively brief there was still the opportunity for scandal after Warne was pictured in London with Sophie Monk in July.

Months after being snapped together, Monk appeared to confirm that the couple had kissed, but Warne strongly denied the allegations.

Seemingly in a response to Warne’s denial, Monk tweeted: ‘I don’t lie.’

In 2017, he took to Twitter to clear up rumours of his colourful love life, writing: ‘I’ve been single for three years and not dated anyone or been on 1 date in that time.’

‘I’m lucky to have three awesome children who look after me and great family and friends too. I’m also very grateful to Sky, Star and Channel 9 for the opportunity to work on something I love – cricket ! Thank you,’ he added.

It’s unclear what exactly inspired Warne to defend his dating history.

Before dating Scott, Warne was engaged to British actress Elizabeth Hurley.

He also had a 10-year marriage to former model Simone Callahan, whom he divorced in 2005.

There are now fears Covid may have played a part in Warne’s death after he contracted the virus twice just months apart.

His family reported he had been having heart troubles in the weeks leading up to his death, while it has also been noted he suffered from asthma and was a heavy smoker.

Warne first contracted Covid in August last year while in England coaching the London Spirit and was placed on a ventilator to ensure he didn’t suffer any lingering effects of the virus.

His family, including his three children – Jackson, Summer and Brooke and their mother Simone – gathered at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport on Thursday night as the body of the sporting icon returned home on a private jet, six days after his sudden death.

Earlier on Thursday morning, his coffin was draped in an Australian flag as the legendary cricketer began his final voyage home from Thailand, a journey that began before dawn.

A private memorial is expected to be held on March 20.

A state funeral will be held on March 30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with as many of Warne’s fans as possible to be allowed to attend.
