The Office’s Brian Baumgartner tops Cameo 2020 earnings list at $1m+

The Office star Brian Baumgartner has taken over actor Michael Rapaport to become the most successful celebrity to record custom content on Cameo.

Cameo CEO Steven Galanis revealed Monday on Kara Swisher’s New York Times podcast that the 48-year-old Office star had earned over $1 million on the service in 2020, more than any other celebrity using it.

Baumgartner became a fan favorite on The Office over nine seasons and 201 episodes by playing the bumbling account Kevin Malone.

‘The person that did the most in revenue this year is Brian Baumgartner who is Kevin from The Office,’ Galal told Swisher on her podcast.

‘He’ll do over $1 million this year in bookings,’ he continued, adding that Baumgartner’s quality content made him a consistently popular celebrity on Cameo.

‘He really takes a lot of pride in his craftsmanship of the videos,’ Galal said. ‘And I do think the quality of the Cameo is something that is really important to people. And he just is somebody that really takes it seriously and does a great job.’

Cameo is an online service that allows customers to find celebrities of various mediums and levels of fame to record personalized videos or even to engage in private messaging — for a fee.

Baumgartner was previously the second top earner on the site, trailing behind actor Michael Rapaport.

His highest-profile film role was in 2007’s License To Wed, in which he starred with his Office costar John Krasinski, as well as Mandy Moore and the late Robin Williams.

Most recently, Baumgartner is hosting and executive producing An Oral History Of The Office podcast, which will include interviews with his old costars Steve Carell, Krasinski, Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer, among others.
