The Project’s Carrie Bickmore flaunts her toned summer body in a bikini – and jokes she has ‘all the gear but no idea’ while learning to surf

The Project’s Carrie Bickmore is enjoying a summer holiday with her family in Byron Bay, on the New South Wales north coast.

And on Tuesday, the 40-year-old revealed she was giving surfing a red hot go.

She shared a photo to Instagram of herself at the beach wearing a zebra-print bikini top and high-waisted black bottoms.

The blonde completed her look with sunglasses and a hat as she posed with a tall blue surfboard.

‘All the gear… no idea,’ Carrie wrote in the caption. ‘Caught one of 200 waves, so not all hope is lost.’

‘See you at the World Champs,’ the TV presenter added.

The mother of three is in the trendy beachside town with her partner, Chris Walker, their daughters, Evie, five, and Adelaide, two, and her son, Oliver, 13, from her marriage to Greg Lange, who died of brain cancer in December 2010.

Carrie’s trip comes after she was recently featured on the cover Stellar magazine

In the issue, she insisted she was ‘not having a midlife crisis’, despite cutting her hair short and getting her first tattoo on the eve of her 40th birthday earlier this month.

She explained that she instead wanted to be more ‘carefree’.

‘Without even thinking about it, that with the tattoo and cutting my hair, I just want to be a bit more carefree,’ she said.

‘I don’t throw caution to the wind very often and I’d like to do that a bit more.’

In November, Carrie got her first ever tattoos: the word ‘Yeah’ with a drawing of a dog underneath, and the letters ‘A’, ‘E’, ‘I’ and ‘U’ as a tribute to her children.

‘It was liberating… there’s something about this year that’s just making me do stuff that people don’t expect to do,’ she said on The Project.
