The Project’s Carrie Bickmore mocked by her co-stars as looking like a ‘ventriloquist’ in throwback photo from her high school ball at age 16

On Monday’s episode of The Project, Carrie Bickmore was surprised by her co-stars pulling up an embarrassing throwback photo.

The TV host, 40, laughed helplessly as fellow panelist Peter Helliar, 45, cracked jokes about the image, in which Carrie was 16, and attending a school ball with a date.

‘Back in the day they photoshopped you to look like a ventriloquist in one of your high school photos,’ he joked.

In stitches: On Monday’s episode of The Project, Carrie Bickmore (pictured) was surprised by her co-stars pulling up an embarrassing throwback photo.

‘That’s my year twelve ball!’ Carrie guffawed as the image was shown on screen.

‘I so desperately wanted him [her date] to kiss me that night and I only found out years later I never had a chance,’ she added.

Peter continued ribbing her, joking: ‘Why have the photoshopped your grandmother’s curtains over your dress?’

Carrie joked:  ‘When he picked me up, James, my gorgeous date James, he said his nan’s couch was made out of the same fabric!’

She also explained she and her mother hand handmade the dress just for the formal.

The TV host is no stranger to sharing throwback photos of herself to Instagram.

Earlier this month, she had followers doing a double take when she shared a collage of photographs from the 1990s to her social media.

Cute! Earlier this month, she had followers doing a double take when she shared a collage of photographs from the 1990s to her social media

‘The ’90s… when you didn’t get the chance to take a photo multiple times til you got one with your eyes open,’ she cheekily captioned the post.

One photo shows a much younger Carrie wearing a red sleeveless top while her hair was slicked back behind her ears.

A second scanned photograph shows Carrie sporting much darker locks, while appearing to hold hands with a male.

Meanwhile, a third image shows the long running television presenter smiling at the camera, wearing a printed floral dress.
