The Voice: Blake Shelton finally uses steal on Paris Winningham as Knockouts round concludes on NBC

Blake Shelton finally used his steal during the Knockouts round on Monday to keep Paris Winningham on the NBC singing competition show.

The 45-year-old country star was impressed by Paris, 32, of Jacksonville, Florida, after his performance of the 1981 country song Tennessee Whiskey.

John Legend, 42, had pitted Paris against Jershika Maple, 24, of Killeen, Texas, and named her the winner after her performance of the 1975 soul song Inseparable.

Show host Carson Daly, 48, reminded the coaches that Paris was available to steal and asked the contestant if he had any final words for his coach John.

‘Truly a blessing and an honor to be here. I thank every last one of y’all for your input,’ Paris told the judges as he started to walk off the stage.

John got up and hugged Paris and told him, ‘That was impossible. I’m sorry I had to pick between you.’

Blake then hit his button to use his only steal of the Knockouts round to gain Paris on his team.

‘That’s the sound of a steal from Blake Shelton!,’ Carson bellowed.

‘It’s perfect that Paris ended up on my team. He sang a country song, for God’s sakes. And moving forward, I want to keep finding songs for him that allow him to have that kind of personality on the stage,’ Blake said.

Mega mentor Ed Sheeran, 30, helped out all the coaches again as the Knockouts round came to an end and revealed to John that he would steal either Paris or Jershika if he were a judge.
