The Voice: Rita Ora is being ‘offered $1million to return for 2022’

Rita Ora is ‘offered $1million to return to The Voice next year’ as record-high ratings result in the coaches wanting bigger salaries

The latest season of The Voice Australia has been a ratings smash for Channel Seven thanks to its all-star judging panel and snappy new format.

So it’s little wonder the network is sparing no expense to secure the return of celebrity coaches Rita Ora, Keith Urban, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy in 2022.

Jessica, 32, and Guy, 39, have already signed on for next year’s season, reports New Idea, but producers are still working on getting Rita, 30, and Keith, 53, ‘over the line’.

After this year’s record-breaking ratings, everyone involved in the singing competition, from Seven to production company ITV Studios Australia, is ‘desperate to keep the momentum up’.

‘Contracts are being worked on for Rita; the ball is all in her court to return. She’s being offered up to $1million per season, which is a monster fee,’ the source said.

‘It’s tempting in a world where there’s not as much money to be made in touring during Covid-19,’ they added, noting that the British singer had yet to sign on the dotted line.

According to New Idea, Keith’s return will come down to his family’s schedule, with money ‘not a motivator’ for him.

Guy is believed to be on a three-year contract, meaning he will likely appear on the next few seasons of The Voice as well as the spin-off The Voice Generations.

Jessica is understood to have secured a ‘great figure for her next season return’.

Meanwhile, host Sonia Kruger is ‘in the best possible position to secure more pay, better contracts and cushier conditions’, reports New Idea.

The 56-year-old presenter recently made it clear she believes The Voice is a better product on Seven than it was during its 10-year run on the Nine Network.

‘The show has found its heart and soul again, which the audience are there for,’ she told New Idea last week.
