The Voice viewers have slammed Jessica Mauboy after she sent Evile Laloata home on Monday night.

Evile, 20, belted out Kygo and Whitney Houston’s Higher Love during the knockout rounds.

Following his performance, Jessica, 32, told the singer she had made the decision to send him home.

Viewers vented their frustration on Twitter, with one writing: ‘I dropped my phone at that decision!’

‘Why is Jess making the worst decisions imaginable?’ another questioned.

‘Seriously Jess didn’t even think about. I’m so mad,’ one person said. ‘You’re sending Evile home? What the actual hell,’ another wrote.

Following Evile’s performance, host Sonia Kruger asked: ‘Jess, you’ve already got Ella through on your team. Will you send Evile straight through to the Semifinal? Will you wait until after or will you say goodbye right now?’ 

‘I’m not taking you through to the next round. I am so sorry, Evile,’ she said.
