The Walking Dead sneak peek features first look at an unrecognizable Hillarie Burton as Negan’s wife Lucille

With production under way on the six new ‘bonus episodes’ for Season 10 of AMC’s The Walking Dead, fans have gotten their first look at Hilarie Burton’s Lucille.

Lucille is the wife of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character Negan, who named his infamous baseball bat wrapped with barbed wire after his late wife.

Burton, who tied the knot in real life with Morgan last year, after more than a decade together, looks practically unrecognizable in the quick sneak peek at her character.

The quick shot of Lucille, sporting dark green hair in a bob hairstyle, comes at the 12-13 second mark of the video, before a shot of Negan winking at her.

It is believed she will only appear in one episode of the six bonus episodes that will close out Season 10, debuting February 28.

In the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, little was known about Lucille except that she was diagnosed with cancer.

In the series, Negan couldn’t bear to kill her himself, which he considered his main weakness.

He ultimately named his signature weapon after his late wife, though these upcoming episodes will be the first time fans will see her in the flesh.

The Walking Dead’s six bonus episodes will lead into the show’s super-sized final season that will span two years and 24 episodes.

While fans prepare to say goodbye to the flagship series, there is more Walking Dead coming with a slew of spin-offs.

AMC has green lit a spin-off focused on the popular Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) characters, which will premiere in 2023.
