Tom Brady’s new Brady Blue hoodie is practically identical to the one featured on The Simpsons

Tom Brady recently launched his new apparel line, which features a royal blue hoodie that is shockingly similar to a hoodie his animated self was wearing in The Simpsons.

The 44-year-old Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was one of many star athletes on a Season 16 episode of The Simpsons dubbed Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass, which aired directly after Super Bowl XXXIX on Fox in 2005.

During the episode, Brady’s animated character was seen wearing a royal blue hoodie with his last name in white letters across the chest… which is exactly what Brady is selling on his BradyBrand website for $95.

The episode centered on a video of Homer Simpson dancing that went viral and became so popular that athletes start hiring him to design celebration dances.

Brady voices himself along with NBA superstars LeBron James and Yao Ming, figure skater Michelle Kwan and NFL defensive juggernaut Warren Sapp.

All of the athletes in the episode wore hoodies with their names across the chest, with Brady’s now identical to the one he’s actually selling.

The Brady Brand line launched on January 12, developed with the Pantone Color Institute.

The ‘Brady Blue’ color is described as, ‘bold, exuding strength and confidence, imbued with an inner intensity, emblematic of his self-determination and commitment to precision,’ from a Pantone tweet back in December.

The timing of the release could bode well for Brady, who advanced to the NFL Divisional Playoff round with a convincing win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Brady, in his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a legendary 20-year career with the New England Patriots, lead the Bucs to a Super Bowl win last year.

If he manages to take his team all the way again, he’ll be the first to do so since he lead the Patriots to back-to-back wins in 2004 and 2005… the latter of which being the very game that The Simpsons episode featuring Brady and his blue hoodie aired after.

Brady recently opened to HypeBeast about why he got into the apparel business at this stage of his career.

‘I’ve always felt like if I wear something, I want it to be something that’s gonna look good 25/30 years from now when I look back on old pictures. So creating something that was really timeless and creating things for all these different aspects of life that match these multifunctional lives that we have nowadays,’ he said.

‘Whether it be training, walking our dogs, it’s about thinking how it can be comfortable, how can it perform well and still be really cool,’ Brady added.

This is also just the latest of many examples of how The Simpsons have managed to ‘predict’ history, with previous episodes predicting Donald Trump’s presidency, Richard Branson heading into outer space, Disney buying Fox and more.
