The talk show host has been reportedly struggling with health issues – even spotted in New York City in a wheelchair looking frail.

The host had been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID-19 earlier this month, despite being vaccinated.

The note on her talk show’s Instagram said: ‘She has been and continues to be under a doctor’s care and is still not ready to return to work. We plan to return with new shows on Oct. 18.’

Adding: ‘Her breakthrough covid case is no longer an issue and she has tested negative, but she is still dealing with some ongoing medical issues.’

The 13th season was originally slated to debut on September 20, though the debut was pushed to October 4 following her testing positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

The new update on Thursday pushes the show back another two weeks with a new premiere date of October 18.

While some speculated that a guest host may fill in for Wendy when new shows return October 18, a representative for the show clarified that she ‘will host’ on the 18th, per Page Six.

The news comes just one day after the show’s Twitter and Instagram unveiled a new teaser trailer for Season 13 of the syndicated talk show.

Two weeks ago, Wendy’s talk show Instagram announced she was diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

‘While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,’ a rep for the show said in the statement.

‘To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA COVID protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday, October 4th,’ the statement concluded.

She was inhaling from a vape pen while waiting for her car.

The COVID-19 announcement came after Wendy cancelled all of her public appearances amid reports that the host was dealing with ‘ongoing health issues’ that needed ‘further evaluations.’

An NYPD spokesperson previously gave a statement to The Sun, who reported that Williams had been driven off in an ambulance after suffering major health complications last week.

‘There was a call for a 57-year-old non-violent female who needed psychiatric services at that address on Wednesday morning. They were transported to the hospital,’ they noted.

An insider later spoke to the media outlet and gave further information about the seemingly troubled television host, who was reportedly ‘drinking every day, even while filming the show.’

They also alleged that those working around the media figure are not interested in seeking help for the embattled personality in an effort to preserve their careers.

‘Everyone is an enabler because they don’t want to lose their job. They see it, they know it, they smelled the liquor,’ they said.

They also claimed that, although Williams had previously spent time in an alcohol-free living situation, she had fallen off the wagon, which was reportedly known to and willfully ignored by her coworkers.

‘Wendy drinks every day and the only time she was sober was when she was at the sober house. Her staffers are worried but no one is ever going to speak up because they don’t want to lose their jobs,’ they said.

The source added that the former radio DJ was ‘an alcoholic. A bad one. She doesn’t need a talk show, she needs help.’

In 2019, DailyMail.com revealed that Wendy was staying overnight at a private facility run by the Pure Recovery Network in Long Island City, New York.

She had plunged into an alcohol- and pill-fueled depression when she fractured her shoulder during a confrontation with her cheating husband, Kevin Hunter.

In the teaser trailer posted Wednesday, an elevator door opening with the number 13 button pressed, as Williams is heard saying, ‘The wait is over.’

‘It’s Wendy. We’re back in full effect. All new hot topics. I just have one question,’ she says as the door opens to reveal Wendy, who says, ‘How you doin?’

She’s seen hopping into her chair and says, ‘Season 13, the fun continues,’ as the video comes to an end.
