The 25-year-old continues to go from strength to strength and has already managed six goals and five assists this campaign.
Grealish committed his future to his boyhood club by signing a new long-term deal last summer, and Villa appear certain to improve on last season’s 17th-place finish with their talisman at the helm.
Few could have predicted Jordan Henderson would be considered one of the finest players in the Premier League during his first seasons at Anfield.
But the Liverpool captain has matured from an energetic presence in midfield to the complete package. He is every bit a world-class performer through his versatility, pressing, passing and leadership.
The 30-year-old won numerous trophies in 2019 but it’s the one he lifted this year which will have tasted the sweetest, as he ended the Reds’ 30-year wait for a league title in style.
Kevin De Bruyne
Arguably the finest player in the Premier League, Kevin De Bruyne hit new heights last season and remarkable equalled the record of 20 assists in single a campaign.
It was no surprise to see the Belgian win a host of individual honours over the summer, while he continues to show he is the lynchpin that drives Manchester City forward.
The pick of his array of world-class performances was his goal-and-assist showing on a famous night for City at Real Madrid. The 29-year-old has produced countless magical moments and we are fortunate to watch him ply his trade week in, week out.
As well as scoring a career-best 22 goals last season, Marcus Rashford captured the heart of the nation with his campaign against child food poverty.
The Manchester United man is not afraid to use his platform to improve the situation around him and continues to show compassion beyond his years.
Rashford also overcame a serious back injury, while the highlight of his season so far is no doubt his Champions League hat-trick against RB Leipzig.
He is firmly in the running to add to his MBE with another award.
Mohamed Salah bursting from his own half, scoring the goal which sealed a 2-0 win over Manchester United and emphatically flexing his muscles on cold January evening at Anfield
It was a picture which summed up the belief Liverpool would finally end their wait for a league title after going 16 points clear at the top of the table with a win over their bitter rivals.
Salah enjoyed yet another stellar season to help steer the Reds to glory, scoring 19 times and picking up 10 assists, while he is in fine form this season with eight goals in nine games.
As Mohamed Salah’s forward partner, Sadio Mane enjoyed a blistering season of his own, scoring 18 goals as Liverpool won the league – including many vital winners.
His importance to Jurgen Klopp’s team cannot be overstated. Technically gifted, prolific with either foot or in the air, and able to leave full-backs flummoxed – Mane is the complete forward.
The 28-year-old has started this season in fine form, too, scoring four times in nine league games including both goals in the 2-0 win at Chelsea.
Virgil Van Dijk
Though his year on the football pitch was brought to an end under the tragic circumstances of a serious injury in October, that takes nothing away from all Virgil van Dijk achieved in 2020.
The Dutch colossus featured in all 38 Premier League games during Liverpool’s triumphant season, scoring five goals, and made a remarkable 50 appearances in all competitions.
