Everton are reportedly eyeing an audacious move for Sergio Aguero when he leaves Manchester City this summer.
Several top clubs are in the race to land Aguero on a free transfer after it was confirmed he will depart the Etihad Stadium.
Aguero is currently on £240,000 a week – a figure Everton could not match – but they have informed his advisors they will bridge any shortfall with a hefty signing on fee.
The 32-year-old is now facing a big decision over his future and whether he wants to remain in the Premier League or head elsewhere.
When he confirmed he will leave City, Aguero vowed to continue playing “at the highest level”.
In a statement, Aguero said: “When a cycle comes to an end, many sensations arise.
“A huge sense of satisfaction and pride remains in me for having played with Manchester City for a whole ten seasons – unusual for a professional player this day and age.
“Ten seasons with major achievements, throughout which I was able to become the top historic goalscorer and forging an indestructible bond with all those who love this club – people who will always be in my heart.
