Alli risks Mourinho’s wrath with Instagram post after latest Tottenham snub

Dele Alli has risked the fury of Jose Mourinho after posting on Instagram following Tottenham’s draw with Fulham.

The midfielder was again an unused sub as the north Londoners gave up more ground in the title race.

Harry Kane’s first-half goal was cancelled out when Fulham frontman Ivan Cavaliero equalised with 16 minutes left on the clock.

The Cottagers have only won away once in the league and remain in the bottom three.

Alli was given a rare chance to shine in the FA Cup win over Marine at the weekend and Mourinho hinted that more opportunities may be coming his way.

But the 24-year-old was left on the bench which is where he remained as Tottenham desperately tried to find a winner.

Alli posted a selfie on Instagram late on Wednesday night which showed a less than impressed facial expression.

The midfielder, who hit the ground running initially under Mourinho, has played just four times in the league this season.

Only one of those has been from the start and on occasion the Englishman has been left out of the matchday squad all together.

He has been linked with a switch to PSG which would see him link up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Following the draw Mourinho bemoaned Tottenham’s inability to see the game off after taking the lead.

He told BBC Sport: “We have to kill a game and we didn’t but you have to keep a clean sheet, not make mistakes, so it was a very avoidable goal.

“The markers are there, there wasn’t even an advantage in terms of numbers.

“They were intelligent enough to understand the way they play, they change, they become more defensive and they are getting results.

“I thought they were a bit lucky but they were good. We have bad results and we should – and we could have – avoided these results.”
