Ander Herrera quickly made to regret what he did to Neymar in PSG training

PSG were preparing for their Champions League group clash with RB Leipzig when Ander Herrera teased teammate Neymar, only to come a cropper himself shortly afterwards

Ander Herrera was quickly made to regret making a fool of teammate Neymar in Paris Saint-Germain training on Monday.

The two players share a good relationship but Herrera did not miss his opportunity to poke fun at the Brazilian superstar.

Neymar found himself in the centre of a warm-up Rondo routine in the session as he chased around the group trying to win the ball back.

The eagle-eyed Herrera then appeared to nutmeg his colleague with a punchy pass through the middle of the circle, which eventually caused Neymar to fall over as his efforts to block it were in vain.

Herrera then rubbed salt in the wound by bounding up to his humiliated teammate arms aloft in celebration – but Neymar was never going to take it lightly.

Shortly after, Herrera was in possession again and Neymar made a beeline for the Spaniard, completely ignoring the ball being passed round him to boot his earlier assailant up in the air.

It was all done in jest and Herrera was soon back to his feet after suffering similar embarrassment to what he’d inflicted on Neymar moments before.

The French club were busy preparing for their third Champions League fixture of the campaign as they welcome Red Bull Leipzig to the Parc des Princes.

PSG are currently top of Group A on goal difference, level on points with Club Brugge.

Mauricio Pochettino look set to be without three players for the clash with Leipzig, including Neymar, who is only just returning from injury.

Leandro Paredes and Sergio Ramos have also been ruled out.

Herrera spoke previously about how Neymar’s absence affects PSG, admitting: “We lose a natural leader.
“In tough situations, we know that we can give him the ball and something may happen, even when the team is suffering.
“In games in which you don’t get the ball that much, you know you have Neymar in order to find a way. Besides, the other team is always afraid to face players of his calibre.” Will PSG win the Champions League this season? Have your say below.

Fortunately for Leipzig they *only have to face the prospect of dealing with Neymar’s strike partners Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, while PSG will be expected to dominate the lions share of possession.
But speaking ahead of the match, Pochettino insisted he was well aware of the threat Leipzig possess and was taking nothing for granted ahead of the tie with their Bundesliga opponents.
“Leipzig and us need to win this game. We want the three points to stay at the top of the table,” he said.

“It’s a team that has a lot of energy, a lot of quality players, which is aggressive and will want to achieve a good result.

“It will be a tough game, and there will be times when we need to be very well organised defensively by being compact.

“We will need to intelligently work on possession to get out of certain situations during which we could undergo rapid transitions that could hurt us.

“We have the ability to practice blocking, but possession will be important. This match will be determined on what happens when the ball is lost.”
