Hector Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Emirates in this summer’s transfer window and has given Arsenal fans another reason to demand his exit
Arsenal transfer rumours: Lacazette for Abraham?
Bellerin has looked likely to leave the Emirates in this summer’s transfer window after falling out of favour with boss Mikel Arteta towards the end of last season.
Yet despite ongoing rumours, the Spaniard was still involved in north London as the Gunners ramped up their pre-season preparations against the Champions League winners.
However, the Gunners faithful were wishing he hadn’t been introduced as a substitute as his inexplicable error cost Arteta’s men a result.
Chelsea took the lead in the first-half through Kai Havertz and Granit Xhaka responded with an equaliser midway through the second-period.
But just three minutes after Xhaka struck, Bellerin was caught under pressure with Chelsea pressing high up the pitch.
The right-back’s attempted pass back was wayward and fell straight into the path of Tammy Abraham.
Abraham, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, was composed to slot Chelsea’s winner past the onrushing Bernd Leno.
The game gave Arteta plenty to ponder with just 12 days until their first Premier League fixture away to newly-promoted Brentford.

But Arsenal fans were unequivocal in their opinion on Bellerin, with a firm belief that he should not be still at the club at the start of the season.
‘Seriously just give Bellerin away for free’ one fan said after his mistake.
‘I’d take £5m right now, he’s done,’ another tweeted.

‘Is today the proof Arteta needs that Bellerín isn’t good enough?’ one Gunner pondered.
Bellerin played just three of the final 13 Premier League games under Arteta in last season’s underwhelming campaign.
And he has been strongly linked with a move to Serie A champions Inter Milan.
But it doesn’t look like the 26-year-old’s Arsenal career is over just yet.
The Guardian report that Arsenal have a new plan for Bellerin, and are preparing a new contract offer for the the defender.
Bellerín’s representatives are said to have met Arsenal’s technical director Edu this week and were told the club would like to extend his current deal, with ends in 2023.
There is still a chance Bellerin could line up against Brentford and start the season as Arteta’s first-choice right-back.
That would bemuse most Gunners fans, who have clearly seen enough of the Spaniard.
