Arsenal have endured a torrid start to the new Premier League season and manager Mikel Arteta, along with technical director Edu, are looking to turn things around at the Emirates and make the next five days before Deadline Day count
Arsenal are looking to turn their season around following a dismal start and end the transfer window on a high.
The Gunners have already spent £140million this summer – the most in the Premier League – on Nuno Tavares, Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale.
But manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are continuing to search for ways to improve the squad.
Those improvements could also come in the form of departures as two senior players are set to walk through the exit door.
The North Londoners have lost both of their two Premier League matches so far in 2021-22, sitting 19th in the table.
Fans are now pleading for the club to bring in further additions before next Tuesday’s deadline.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest transfer news from the Emirates.
Edu given Aouar boost
Lyon have reportedly made midfielder Houssem Aouar available for an initial loan with an obligation to buy, meaning Edu’s decision to not pay the £53million asking price last summer could prove a masterstroke.
At the time, according to The Sun, Lyon were willing to accept as little as €20million (£17m) for the French playmaker.
Get French Football News are now reporting that the Ligue 1 outfit will allow Aouar to leave on a temporary basis.

Willian exit imminent
Willian’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has confirmed his client is in talks with Corinthians over a move to the Brazilian club.
The Telegraph recently reported that Willian is on the verge of leaving Arsenal after just one season in north London, which has now been confirmed by his representative.

Joorabchian said to Globo Esporte: “We’re looking forward to making this happen. For me, it’s very important to help as much as possible.”
The 33-year-old’s Gunners deal is set to be terminated, allowing the winger to depart for free and join the club he left in 2007.
Willian signed from Chelsea less than 12 months ago, penning a three-year deal in the north of the capital.
Torreira completes Fiorentina move
Another outcast has decided to end his time at Arsenal in the form of Lucas Torreira.
The Uruguayan has joined Fiorentina on loan for a fee of €1.5million (1.2m) fee, with an option to permanently purchase the 25-year-old from the Gunners for €15m (£12.5m).
Torreira made his name with fellow Serie A side, returning to the league after Unai Emery brought the tenacious midfielder in from Sampdoria in 2018 for £26million.
