Arsenal player ratings: Odegaard puts in one of his best displays

Before the game, all the talk was about captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he was left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons.

Arsenal, however, coped fine without their captain as they ran out 3-0 winners to claim their first win in December.

Alexandre Lacazette and Martin Odegaard opened the scoring, while Gabriel sealed the win by scoring a header in the second-half.

Simon Collings was at Emirates Stadium to see Arsenal in action…

Had a good game and made some decent saves, particularly in the opening 20 minutes. Distribution was good and he almost had an assist when he found Martinelli with a pin-point clearance.

Got better as the game went on. Defensively he was solid, making a great tackle to deny Kyle Walker-Peters. Got forward well too and linked up nicely with Saka.

Has had a poor few games, but he was much better today. Played out from the back well and never looked flustered in possession.

Had a shaky start and he was giving the ball away far to easily, while he was booked too in the first three minutes too. Improved, though, and got himself on the scoresheet.

He was a bit rusty at Everton on Monday, but looked back to near his best here. Bombed on, as always, and got himself an assist.

Still nowhere near the level he can play at and looks short on confidence. Managed to break up play a few times. Performance was better than at Everton.
