Arsenal player ratings: Smith Rowe and Saka shine; Lacazette steps up

Here’s how Mikel Arteta’s side rated at the Eden Arena…

A quiet night for the German, who had very little to do. Another clean sheet, though, with the defence in front of him looking solid.

Is quickly beginning to establish himself as Arsenal’s best right-back. Solid in defence and carried a threat when going forward too.

You could hear him barking out orders all game and he marshalled the defence well. Looks so much more comfortable playing alongside Pablo Mari, as opposed to Gabriel.

Given the nod to start over Gabriel and did well. Nice and composed on the ball. Always seems to play with minimal fuss.

Filled in at left-back again and did a good job once more. Fears he could be troubled due to a lack of pace, but didn’t really put a foot wrong.

Kept things simple and was solid. Worked his socks off and pressed well. The perfect partner for Thomas Partey in midfield.

Bossed the midfield and ran the show. So neat and tidy, and passing was so much more slick compared to last week.

Leno said in the build-up to this match that the 19-year-old will be world-class one day. Showed his huge potential again tonight with a goal and a fine display.
