Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become the latest Arsenal star to say his goodbyes to Mesut Ozil.
The German will join Fenerbahce having seen his lucrative contract at the Emirates terminated six months early.
The Turkish club are poised to officially announce his arrival after he ended his nightmare final 12 months at Arsenal.
Aubameyang and Ozil have been team-mates for three years, although the playmaker has not shared the pitch with the Gabon international since March.
The German was frozen out under Mikel Arteta who left him out of his domestic and European squads, but the striker spoke incredibly highly of the former Real Madrid man.
He said: “Want to say thanks to you my bro and wish you all the best.
“Don’t Need to Talk about how good you are on and off the pitch and how you take care of people. See you soon on fortnite Bro.”
Ozil replied with two heart emojis.
Aubameyang’s message comes after Shkodran Mustafi penned his own tribute to his compatriot.
The defender, who is set to leave the Emirates at the end of the season, claimed Ozil was “unselfish”.
He said on Twitter : “Bro, you have been the most unselfish player on and off the pitch, I have ever shared the dressing room with.
“You will be always remembered as the #AssistKing. Unfortunately we as a team haven’t been able to assist you when you needed us the most. All the best.”
Ozil himself has been lauded by Arsene Wenger, the man who signed him back in 2013.
The German was a favourite under the former Gunners boss and was awarded his hefty deal shortly before Wenger departed.
The three-time Premier League winning manager has backed Ozil to “prove his doubters wrong” following a difficult nine months.
He said: “Mesut is a guy who needs a warm environment and I believe he will find that more than anywhere else in Turkey.
“Overall, he can provide the balls that the strikers need to win football games. If they do that well, they have a good chance of winning the league.”
