Aubameyang to miss Southampton clash with Tierney a doubt

Aubameyang missed Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round defeat to Southampton due to “personal reasons” and Arsenal confirmed this morning he will not be part of the squad for tonight’s Premier League match due to “personal family reasons”.

The Gunners could also be without left-back Tierney, who has been suffering from discomfort in his right calf.

Arsenal’s medical team were assessing the Scot this morning and a decision was due to be made later as to whether he faced Southampton.

Defender Pablo Mari and midfielder Dani Ceballos will definitely miss the match tonight, however, as they too are struggling with calf issues.

Ceballos is back in training and, though not available to face Southampton, will continue to be assessed in the coming days.

Mari, meanwhile, is progressing well from a mild calf strain and is aiming to be back in training this week.

Arsenal may have been hit by injuries, but they were due today to complete the loan signing of Martin Odegaard.

The Real Madrid midfielder passed his medical yesterday and is due to join today.
