Karim Benzema has given his thoughts on playing alongside Kylian Mbappe amid a potential rift in the France squad.
It comes after a 3-0 win against Bulgaria in a warm-up game ahead of Euro 2020, when Olivier Giroud scored two late goals.
However, the Chelsea striker was not happy with his team-mates and insisted the service was not good enough.
“I was a little quiet because, sometimes, I make runs and the balls aren’t forthcoming,” Giroud said. “I am not saying that I always make the best runs, but I am seeking to offer solutions in the box.”
Mbappe was less than pleased with his international teammate and reportedly had to be stopped from calling a press conference on the matter.
To further strain their relationship, Giroud’s apology has rumoured to have been rejected by the Paris Saint-Germain star.
With France going into the tournament as favourites, the last thing Didier Deschamps will want is fractures in his squad.
He has attempted to cool down the situation, saying: “If you received the ball after each time you called for it, it is always the same.
“The attacker says: ‘I am making runs, but it’s on the midfield.’ The midfielders will say that it is on the attackers.
“Sometimes, the pass isn’t forthcoming, sometimes it is down to the movement. But this is not a stigmatisation of Kylian or whoever.”
And Benzema, who for so long was ostracised by the France manager, has looked to quell any suggestion of relationship troubles.

He told Telefoot : “I had seen him on TV and had played against him in the Champions League. At his young age, he is already one of the best.
“I really enjoy playing with him, he can make the difference at any time. He can do everything.”
Of course, Mbappe has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer as his contract situation at PSG continues to drag on.
With one year left on his deal, the forward admitted that he might not be at the right club – plunging his future further into doubt.
“I have to make the right decision, which is difficult, and give myself every chance to decide well,” Mbappe is quoted telling France Football.
“I am in a place where I like myself, feel good. But is it the best place for me? I don’t have the answer yet”.
Carlo Ancelotti will be keen to bolster his squad in the transfer window with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland also on their wish list.
