Burnley 0-0 Chelsea: Premier League – LIVE!

The Blues are back on the road as they return to Premier League action with a trip to Burnley.

Chelsea eased to a 4-0 Champions League win at Krasnodar on Wednesday, with Hakim Ziyech in sparkling form as Frank Lampard’s forward line clicked in Russia.

However, Chelsea are yet to fully find their feet domestically, taking nine points from their opening six games as Lampard has struggled to balance a thrilling attack with a porous defence.

Burnley were impressive against Tottenham in defeat on Monday, narrowly losing 1-0. Can they beat their London visitors five days later?

Ziyech is making up for lost time after missing the start of the season. He has a directness that is going to make him a lot of fun to watch this term.

Pope was at fault for the goal – but Ziyech forced the error with his quick thinking and first-time shot.

33min: Burnley are not offering much, perhaps a hangover from Monday, summed up by a rare corner being sent straight into Mendy’s arms.

21min: Chilwell is enjoying himself on the flank, marauding up and down and most recently links up with Ziyech. It’s allowing Werner to find space more centrally. So far, Burnley have no answer.

Penalty shout!

16min: Chilwell is appealing for a spot kick after getting a nudge in the back inside the Burnley area. The referee is having none of it, and neither is VAR.

James Robson at Turf Moor

It’s a different formation for Chelsea here and a switch from the 4-2-3-1 that Lampard has liked this season.

Kante is playing the holding role, with Havertz and Mount ahead of him to create a 4-1-4-1 system at the start.

6min: Werner has effectively taken Pulisic’s position on the left so no change of shape so far.

3min: Early sighter from Abraham as he ducks past the Burnley back line, but he’s a tad early and the flags up.
