Chelsea are reportedly targeting more recruits before the transfer window shuts, with a centre-back and a central midfielder Thomas Tuchel’s priority areas to strengthen
Chelsea kicked off the season in brilliant fashion with a dominant 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were hugely impressive even without club-record signing Romelu Lukaku, who joined from Inter Milan for £97.5million last week.
But the Belgian striker may be available to face Arsenal on Sunday, as he will join training with his teammates on Tuesday as his period of quarantine ends.
The latest reports suggest Chelsea are targeting more recruits before the transfer window shuts, with a centre-back and a central midfielder Thomas Tuchel’s priorities.
The Blues are also believed to be in the race to sign one of the best youngsters in France.
Here is Tuesday’s Chelsea transfer round-up.

Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui insists his side are under no pressure to sell Jules Kounde amid strong interest from Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel is very keen to bolster his defensive options and Kounde is considered one of the finest centre-backs in La Liga.
The 22-year-old won the Europa League during the 2019/20 season – his first with Sevilla – and travelled to Euro 2020 with France.
The Spanish club value their prized asset at a reported £68million, but Lopetegui does not anticipate he will be going anywhere.
“I don’t have the feeling that this is his last game,” Lopetegui said of Kounde after the 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. “There is nothing that tells me that he will not continue with us.
“He played a very good game. Things can happen until 31st August. We need to strengthen positions and we are working on it.”
Chelsea could be set for Sarr talks
Chelsea may be one of a number of Premier League clubs who will hold talks with Metz president Bernard Serin as they weigh up a bid for teenage sensation Pape Matar Sarr.
The 18-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest talents in France and Metz reportedly value him at €40million (£34m).
Sarr is also said to be a target for Manchester City, Real Madrid, Everton and Manchester United, and Sky Sports report Serin flew into Stansted airport on Monday morning for talks with three Premier League chairmen.
Blues eye Bellingham
Chelsea are keeping tabs on Jude Bellingham as Thomas Tuchel pushes to strengthen his midfield before the transfer window shuts, according to Eurosport .
Bellingham, 18, has enjoyed a brilliant start to his career with Borussia Dortmund after bursting onto the scene with Birmingham City.
The report claims Tuchel has identified the England international as an alternative to his Three Lions teammate and West Ham United vice-captain Declan Rice.
Manchester United are also believed to be keeping tabs on Bellingham.
