Chelsea have announced they will parade their Champions League trophy around Stamford Bridge ahead of their pre-season friendly against Tottenham on August 4.
The club are expecting a near capacity crowd at their home ground which makes it the perfect time to celebrate the trophy with supporters.
The Blues did have fans at the Champions League final in Porto but were unable to have a parade on their return to England due to Covid restrictions.
Rules in the country have now been eased meaning they can show their trophy off to fans.
The club said: “At the match at Stamford Bridge, the Champions League trophy will be paraded for the first time since the glorious night in Porto back in May.”
Thomas Tuchel’s men claimed the title back in May when they defeated Manchester City 1-0 thanks to a Kai Havertz goal.
The victory got Tuchel’s time at Chelsea off to the perfect start as they raised the European trophy for the second time in the club’s history.
And he has already capitilised on the win as he was offered a new contract shortly after the final.
At the time of signing his two-year extension, he said: “I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal. I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family.
“There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.”
The Blues will look to defend their Champions League title and to de-throne Premier League holders Manchester City in the upcoming campaign.
To prepare for it they will take part in pre-season friendlies.
Chelsea’s game against Spurs is part of triangular pre-season friendlies as both clubs will also compete against Arsenal.
The London club are currently taking part in a pre-season training camp in County Kildare where Tuchel will hope his big name signings will join them.
Chelsea are targeting huge strikers in the transfer window.
It is thought they are looking to make a deal with big names such as Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
No official deals have been confirmed yet with Haaland giving the impression he will stay at his German club and Kane being heavily linked to Manchester City.
