Chelsea’s season reached new heights on Wednesday evening as they booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final.
Thomas Tuchel’s side defeated Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate, with goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount at Stamford Bridge ensuring progression.
It has been a dramatic turnaround by the club, who will also contest in the FA Cup final versus Leicester City on May 15.
Many expect the Blues to be even stronger next season and to challenge for the Premier League title, but which players will the club recruit in the summer to help them achieve that goal?
We have taken a look at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours…
Blues given Donnarumma boost
Chelsea have been given a boost in their pursuit of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 22-year-old Italian is out of contract this summer and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
And it appears Milan are resigned to the fact they will be losing their star man for nothing, having agreed terms with Lille keeper Mike Maignan.
A five-year deal has been agreed in principle according to journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi.
Chelsea on Pjanic ‘lookout‘
Chelsea are reportedly in the running to sign Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer.
The Bosnian joined the La Liga giants from Juventus last summer but has failed to deliver the impact many expected.
As a result of his underwhelming start to life at Camp Nou, Spanish publication Sport have claimed that he ‘doesn’t have the confidence’ of manager Ronald Koeman.
The report adds that Pjanic would ‘have no problem’ to move to a top-club, if Barca opened the door for a transfer.
It it becomes clear that the 31-year-old will struggle for regular game time, Chelsea and Inter Milan are two sides that would be ‘willing to bid’ for the player.
Ferdinand makes Sergio Aguero claim
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Chelsea cannot afford to miss out on signing Sergio Aguero this summer.
The Argentine striker will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, though is yet to announce where his next destination will be.
Ferdinand believes Aguero will remain in the Premier League and backed the Blues to make a move for the prolific forward.
Speaking in a YouTube video on his personal channel, the 42-year-old said: “I think he stays in the Premier League.”
“If I’m Chelsea I take him now. If I’m Chelsea I go and get him… quick!”
He added: “If I’m them I go and get Aguero if I can’t get a [Erling] Haaland or someone like that.”
