Chelsea transfer plans underway with Haaland, Aguero, Lukaku targets

homas Tuchel insists there will be no fall out if Chelsea fail to land his leading targets this summer – and has revealed recruitment plans are already being formed.

The German has made a top class striker a priority this summer as he prepares to overhaul his attack.

Tuchel had a well-publicised fall out with Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo before being sacked by the French giants, but says that will not happen at Chelsea.

Ahead of his first transfer window at the club, he revealed he will have significant input on recruitment – outlining the type of player he wants to bring to the club this summer.

“I have opinions about what we can add to the group to get better,” he said. “This is my job and I will give my opinion and I am asked my opinion and we will do this and sometimes opinions change.

“This is also a process and I have my ideas of course. I have ideas of certain profiles. This is not about me wishing for this player A and B and if they don’t come I will get angry. This was never like this in my whole career. This will not be like this.

“I totally understand there are issues to solve with the agents, the player, the interests of a club. It is not only about me and my wishes.”

Antonio Conte was left frustrated when missing out on Lukaku and Virgil van Dijk after leading Chelsea to the title.

Part of Tuchel’s remit was to get the best out of expensive signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz – but despite leading Chelsea to the brink of the Champions League final, he has struggled to get the balance up-front right.

He faces intense competition for Haaland, who is also a target for Manchester United, Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Aguero could be a more attainable target, with the veteran Argentine eager to stay in England, while Lukaku could cost upwards of £100million.

Addressing the club’s recruitment plans, Tuchel added: “I talk with the club and give my opinion and we share this with the scouting and of course I’m involved and I should be involved and I have absolutely the feeling that I am involved.

“The players that we have are fantastic players with big personalities. Right now is even the moment where we get to know each other better and better and we have big games coming and coming and crucial times ahead of us.

“We will have a very clear picture of our group at least and the stronger they perform the harder it is to improve the squad from outside. But there is always room and there are always ideas and we will find out.“I have the strong feeling we are not in a rush and we are not in a big need and very relaxed. Right now everybody is fully focused and it is not the moment to get distracted with any other subjects.”
