Chelsea are top of the Premier League after an impressive 3-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday.
All three goals were scored by players who were at the club long before the summer transfer window, during which they significantly improved the squad.
Frank Lampard and Marina Granovskaia oversaw a mega £250million spending spree at Stamford Bridge, bringing in the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Edouard Mendy and Ben Chilwell.
Despite their impressive transfer business in the previous window, the Blues have been tipped to dip into the January transfer market to continue improving the squad.
Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Giroud urged to snub move away
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been tipped to leave the club during the January transfer window in order to get consistent minutes.
The forward has five goals in his last two games after a renaissance this week, but still appears to be Lampard’s second or third choice striker.
And with the European Championships fast approaching, France boss Didier Deschamps has called on him to move on in order to get more game time.
However, Paul Merson believes Giroud should stay put and snub a move away even if another club comes in.
He explained in his column for the Daily Star: “Every team in the Premier League would take Olivier Giroud like a shot.
“But he should stay at Chelsea because even if he’s not playing every week, he will still start for France at the Euros.”
Defender set to leave
Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri is set to depart the club during January, claims Area Napoli – via SportWitness.
The left-back, who has been capped by the Italian national side, was tipped to leave during the previous summer window, but no deal was worked out.

Frank Lampard’s team made waves during the summer by splashing over £250million to bring in the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy and Thiago Silva.
It has given them one of the Premier League’s most potent attacks – but behind them remains a defence that continues to leak goals, with 3-3 draws against West Brom and Southampton already behind them.

Palmieri is keen on a return to the Italy side and is eager to work his way back into the senior side and get in contention for next summer’s European Championship squad.
Ben Chilwell’s arrival at the club has pushed him down the pecking order, and he is unlikely to feature in many – if any – games for the first-team this season as a result.
And Serie A side Napoli are said to be determined to work out a deal to sign the 26-year-old in January.
Chelsea face Liverpool, Man Utd competition
The 20-year-old centre-back has earned interest from the Premier League for his performances for Cagliari, and has been tipped to move sooner rather than later.
He has been ever-present for the Serie A side this season, and committed his future to Cagliari this week by signing a new contract.
Despite being under contract until 2024, Walukiewicz is still reportedly wanted by a host of teams throughout Europe, with Chelsea, Liverpool and United all watching him closely.
All three are on the hunt for long-term options at centre-back, and the Polish international could end up being a future replacement for veteran Thiago Silva.
