Chris Eubank tears up as he discusses late son Sebastian

Chris Eubank Jr has paid a touching tribute to his late brother Sebastian with a message to his nephew Raheem.

Eubank returned to the ring for the first time since his brother passed away due to a heart attack this summer, stopping Wanik Awdijan.

He took control of the bout after the first round, and was heading for a KO that would have ended up on the highlight reel before the Armenian pulled out in the corner.

And after the bout, Eubank shared a tweet to his 368,000+ followers paying tribute to Sebastian, and his son Raheem.

“Raheem tonight was for you & your old man,” Eubank said in a caption of a picture showing the pair.

“We miss him & now he will live on through you… you got some big shoes to fill kid.”

The boxer and MMA fighter, who held a record of 2-0 in boxing and 1-0 in Mixed Martial Arts, was tragically found dead on a beach near his home in the UAE in July – just days before his 30th birthday.

Grieving widow Salma Abdelati said that Sebastian, originally from Brighton, had died from a “massive heart attack”.

She said a full post-mortem revealed her husband could not have been saved, and he was most likely living with a pre-existing heart condition he and his family were unaware of.

The couple had welcomed son Raheem only a month prior.

Eubank’s father, legendary former world champion Chris Sr, said in a statement at the time: “Never did I ever imagine I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have at the loss of my son.

“My family and I are devastated to hear of the death of Sebastian just days before what would have been his 30th birthday.”

Eubank is now likely to face Liam Williams in what would be a final eliminator for a world title, and could fight again later this year on another Boxxer event.

“Anybody with a world title, anything the fans want to see me fight,” Eubank said on Sky Sports after the fight.

“A guy that keeps popping up is Liam Williams, everyone seems to want that fight for me so that’s an option.”

He also teased a potential meeting with former rival Billy Joe Saunders, who handed him one of his two career losses.

The pair’s feud has never truly come to an end, and the prospective fight could be made when Saunders returns to the ring from an orbital injury.

“You’ve got that rat Saunders running around, he wants to fight me for five mil,” Eubank continued.

“The options are endless. All I know, from December, big names, it’s gonna be a hell of a 12 months.”

Eubank Jr was joined on the card tonight by Hughie Fury and Savannah Marshall, all three of whom landed early stoppages.
