ayef Aguerd will wear the shirt No.27 at West Ham next season.
The 26-year-old completed a £28m move to east London on Monday, signing a five-year-contract to become David Moyes’ first summer signing.
Initially, the club will pay £26.7m but the deal could rise should certain add-ons be met.
With his team back in European football next season, Moyes is targeting at least six more signings this summer as he plots a significant overhaul after a relatively quiet time of it on the transfer front over the past few windows.
The addition of a left-footed central defender was a key priority ahead of next season, with both a new forward and cover at left-back understood to be other areas in which they are looking to strengthen.
The last incumbent of that squad number was Albian Ajeti, with Lucas Perez, Patrice Evra, Marko Arnautovic and Dimitri Payet having also worn it over the last few years.
