Conor McGregor’s fiancee Dee Devlin has stood by him during controversial career

Conor McGregor has been on a roller coaster ride of emotions in and out of the cage over the last eight years.

But one person who has remained a constant by his side is fiancee Dee Devlin, the mother of his two children.

The couple, who have not announced when they intend to marry, are also expecting a third child this summer.

And McGregor has repeatedly hailed Ms. Devlin’s influence since they met over a decade ago.

A young McGregor already met Dee at a party when he sent her a message on now-defunct social media site Bebo.

“I went on one day and had a friend request and I was like, “Hmm, what’s this,” Dee has said.

They quickly became an item and she essentially became the first member of his entourage which has since ballooned.

“Cconor would go train until about 10pm, then we’d just drive home and listen to music and kind of just say look, ‘One day’.”

That motto proved to be prescient as McGregor rose to fame and fortune thanks to his loud mouth outside the cage and his thunderous left hand in it.

Before he became the featherweight world champion in 2015, McGregor said of his then girlfriend: “Every day, since I started out in this game, she’s supported me.

“She’d drive me to the gym, and she’d listen to all my dreams. Dee is a lifesaver for me. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for her, and that’s for sure. I’m doing all of this for her.”

Life hasn’t always been plain sailing for McGregor who has courted controversy in his private life almost as often as he has walked to the Octagon.

In 2018 he was arrested and charged after he threw a trolley at a bus ferrying UFC fighters – including bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov – to their hotel.

The charges were eventually dropped when McGregor agreed a plea deal with the New York authorities and agreed to carry out community service.

The following year, footage emerged of McGregor punching an elderly man in a pub after he refused a shot of the fighter’s Proper Twelve Irish whiskey.

McGregor pleaded guilty and was hit only with a £860 fine while also agreeing to pay damages.

But Dee has remained by his side and has welcomed the arrival of son Conor Jr and daughter Croia in recent years.

McGregor popped the question on his partner’s 32nd birthday last August before announcing they were expecting a third child over Christmas.
