Ole discusses Ronaldo debut

Cristiano Ronaldo is making the most of his five-day isolation by enjoying a spot of Manchester sunshine.

The 36-year-old sealed an emotional return to Manchester United earlier this week, signing a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

Ronaldo then joined his Portugal teammates on international duty, where against the Republic of Ireland he became the leading scorer in the history of international men’s football.

His dramatic late brace came after he missed a first-half penalty and brought his staggering total for the national side up to 111.

But in the aftermath of his winner, Ronaldo proceeded to take off his shirt before completing his trademark celebration.

The referee was given no choice but to caution him, meaning he is suspended for the Selecao’s second qualifier coming up next week.

Manager Fernando Santos allowed his talisman to miss the friendly with Qatar, meaning he could fly back to the United Kingdom and begin his period of isolation.

Old Trafford bosses had requested for an exemption to the guidelines, given that Ronaldo is swapping one elite sport bubble for another.

However that was refused, meaning he will stay in his new home until Wednesday when after a negative test he will be able to join his new side.

Until then, he will be keeping fit in his luxury new property, with the Sun revealing it comes set with a swimming pool to help out with his preparations.

He will also get to spend some quality time with partner Georgina Rodriguez, who has also made the move to Manchester.

Ronaldo put up a series of pictures with his family, including his four children Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, twins Eva and Matteo and youngest daughter Alena Martina with the caption “who says Manchester has no sun?!?”.

Ronaldo will quarantine with his family until Wednesday

His eldest, Ronaldo Jr is already following in his father’s footsteps when it comes to footballing talent and has been a regular fixture in the Juventus youth sides.

Portuguese outlet A Bola, claim he will join up with Manchester United’s academy, where he will be able to link up with Wayne Rooney’s son Kai.

As for Ronaldo senior, fans have flocked to buy his shirt after it was announced he would be given back his iconic No.7 jersey.

United had to request for special dispensation for him to have his old number, after Edinson Cavani had already worn the shirt this season.

That was granted and the Uruguayan will revert to 21, as he wears for the national side.

Fans are hoping they will get their first glimpse of Ronaldo back in a Manchester United shirt when they take on Newcastle at Old Trafford next Saturday.
