The Three Lions have four points from their opening two games – a 1-0 win over Croatia and a goalless draw against Scotland – but have yet to hit anything approaching top gear so far at the Euros, with the stalemate versus the Scots drawing criticism over a lack of creativity… and Harry Kane’s rusty form.
England are still odds-on to reach the last-16: they will go through if they draw or if Scotland do not win, and will top the group with a win if they beat Czech Republic. However, what Southgate really needs along with a result is a performance to build confidence before his side face knockout football.

Czech Republic vs England team news
Southgate has confirmed Kane will start. The Three Lions skipper failed to have a shot on target in the opening two games and was subbed off in both matches.
Despite that, Southgate has revealed Kane will start, saying: “He is fundamental not only to the goals he scores but the build-up play and everything else he brings.”
Phil Foden may be dropped given he will be suspended if he gets booked, and that will allow Southgate to respond to the clamour to play Jack Grealish.
