David de Gea has taken to social media to celebrate the birth of his first child, Yanay, on Friday.
The Manchester United goalkeeper and his girlfriend Edurne Garcia both posted a picture on their Instagram accounts of the baby’s hand along with a caption: “Yanay 4•3•21” along with a loveheart emoji.
The Spaniard was absent for his side’s goalless draw at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
After the game Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to elude on the reasons behind De Gea’s absence.
But it emerged after the game that the 30-year-old had returned to Spain to be with his partner for the birth of his first child.
Solskjaer has told the United No 1 that he should remain in his homeland until after the international break.
The MEN reported that Henderson was told before the draw with Crystal Palace that he could start United’s next six games.
That will include this Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad.
Should Henderson start at the weekend it will be the first time in his United career that he’s been named as a starter in successive league games.
Henderson is keen to be given more opportunities at Old Trafford with frustration growing over his lack of minutes.
The 23-year-old returned from two years away at Sheffield United in the summer, but has been unable to usurp De Gea.
Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund have both been credited with interest in the English goalkeeper.
De Gea still has several years to run on the contract he signed he 2019 that made him the club’s highest earner.
