Dvalishvili has expletive reaction to what greeted him at his coach’s house

Merab Dvalishvili got more than he bargained for after being greeting by a terrifying skull at his coach John Wood’s house.

The no.1 contender for the UFC Bantamweight title was in Las Vegas visiting his coach’s house when he was left freaked out by the figure in the doorway of Wood’s abode.

Muttering under his breath, on UFC 306 Embedded, Dvalishvili said: “That’s some scary s***.”

Dvalishvili is the headline attraction at UFC 306 this Saturday night when he faces Sean O’Malley for the Bantamweight world title at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

While a cut suffered in training led to speculation of the fight being called up, the Georgian star is working hard to claim a title that has been held by O’Malley for over two years.

In a bid to end the American’s nine-match winning streak, Dvalishvili paid a visit to Wood’s home in the UFC Embedded YouTube series.

During his visit he could be seen enjoying lunch with his coach’s family, before sitting down to watch O’Malley’s victory over Aljamain Sterling from UFC 292.

Discussing his relationship with the fighter, Wood said: “The relationship between me and Rab, it’s good man. It’s awesome.

“He’s such a good person, a good guy and a good fighter. It’s just such a pleasure all the way round.

“It’s good energy, good vibes and he’s funny.”

Dvalishvili added: “After this fight we’re going to go to Georgia and I’m going to take him to my house and my country and we’ll become closer to each other.”

Dvalishvili boasts a 17-4 record and has beaten Jose Aldo, Petr Yan and Henry Cejudo in his last three fights heading into this one.

However, UFC boss Dana White was not happy after the Georgian went public last month with shots of the cut that he suffered.

“The whole world knows about Merab’s cut,” White told assembled media members after filming the Contender Series.

“He posted it. Our guys are so dumb, it’s next-level unbelievable.

“All the stuff I talk about boxing, what I will give boxing, is when something happens in a camp, man, let me tell you what, it does not leak.

“Our guys can’t f****** wait to throw it up on social media.

“It’s a small cut. It’s no big deal. But obviously, it needed to be posted.”

Preliminary action from UFC 306 is expected to get started at 12:30am on Sunday morning UK time, with the main card scheduled to begin at 3am for UK fans.
