Eden Hazard was reportedly ‘angry and annoyed’ that Real Madrid drew Liverpool in the Champions League, with the midfielder set to miss the clash through injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will travel to face Los Blancos in the quarter-finals on April 6, before their home leg against the La Liga giants eight days later.
And former Chelsea star Hazard is said to be frustrated that he will miss at least the first leg as his injury problems continue.
The Spanish publication says he considers the Reds to be a ‘special’ rival from his seven seasons in the Premier League – and he believes his knowledge of playing against them would have made the last-eight clash perfect for him to show boss Zinedine Zidane what he’s all about.
Hazard’s time at the Bernabeu has been marred by injuries, with the Belgian international having made just 36 appearances since leaving Stamford Bridge for Spain in 2019.
He has played only 14 times this season, and is currently sidelined by a muscle problem thought to be linked to his ongoing ankle issues. The injury will definitely rule him out of the opening clash, and potentially the second leg as well.
Last week, Hazard was told he may “never play football again” following his latest setback.
Dr Jose Gonzalez, who works for Madrid’s rivals Atletico, has warned the forward against having an operation on his ankle, having already gone under the knife twice.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Ondacero, the medical expert said: “Hazard has to train with the team for up to 10 training sessions. In my experience it is difficult for him to return to playing at his level with Real Madrid this season.
“If a player returns after a long injury without having hardly trained, the most normal thing is that he is injured again.
“He has anxiety, he wants to show that he is worth and wants to give 100% and he is not there for that.”
