England qualify for Euro 2020 semi-finals with 4-0 win over Ukraine

England have qualified for the semi-finals of Euro 2020 after beating Ukraine 4-0.

Harry Kane opened the scoring for the Three Lions with the earliest goal England have ever scored at the Euros for 17 years.

The Tottenham striker toe-poking home a perfectly threaded Raheem Sterling pass to break the deadlock.

England continued to pile on the pressure and came close through West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, who tried his luck from the edge of the area with a powerful strike.

Man United’s incoming signing Jadon Sancho was next to have a go and tested the keeper after losing his marker with an impressive turn, but his effort was saved.

Ukraine shook things up with Andriy Shevchenko changing his side’s formation to counter England’s pressure.

And they came back into the game towards the end of the first half in Rome.

But after the break, England had a point to prove and turned on the class.

Harry Maguire notched England’s second from a free-kick, which was floated into the box by Luke Shaw.

The Manchester United left-back got another assist moments later when he crossed the ball into the area for Kane to complete his brace.

Three Lions boss Southgate made some changes to preserve his players for later in the competition, with Jordan Henderson coming on for Declan Rice.

And it was the Liverpool captain who bagged England’s fourth with another headed goal.

The Three Lions will now take on Denmark in the semi-finals on July 7.
