It is no shock to see England striker Harry Kane among the favourites given he won the indivudual prize at the 2018 World Cup with six goals – and that was with the Three Lions finishing fourth in Russia.
However, Serie A top scorer Romelu Lukaku and Belgium are also seeking success this summer, and the striker’s two goals in a 3-0 win over Russia put him top of the pile so far.
With France the favourites for the Euros, Kylian Mbappe must be watched, with Cristiano Ronaldo also worth a shout with Portugal defending their Euro 2016 crown.
Karim Benzema is back for Les Bleus while Memphis Depay is on set-piece duty for Netherlands, and Robert Lewandowski is surely worth consideration despite Poland’s outside chance of winning the Euros.
